Expedition to the Giants of the Triassic: Talampaya and Valle de la Luna is the perfect opportunity to immerse yourself in Argentina's geological history, exploring two sites declared Natural World Heritage by UNESCO.
What to expect
The adventure begins with the departure from La Rioja to Talampaya National Park. Upon arrival, we will venture into the imposing canyon with reddish walls over 150 meters high, a direct journey to the Triassic Period. We will explore its circuits to discover geoforms sculpted by erosion over millions of years, such as The Monk and The Tower, while learning about the fascinating geological history of this UNESCO World Heritage site.
We continue the expedition towards Ischigualasto Provincial Park, better known as the Valley of the Moon. This desert with a lunar appearance will surprise you with its clayey soil and incredible variety of shades. We will take the traditional circuit to admire iconic formations such as The Mushroom, The Submarine, and the Bocce Court. We will learn about its invaluable paleontological value, as one of the most complete sequences of Triassic dinosaur fossils has been found here.
