What to expect
The day begins with a trip to the Sacred Valley of the Incas, surrounded by mountains, agricultural terraces, and traditional Andean communities. The first stop is Pisac, where you will explore its archaeological complex and learn about Inca agricultural, ceremonial, and defensive architecture.
The journey continues to Urubamba, where you will enjoy a buffet lunch at a local tourist restaurant.
Tour one of the most impressive archaeological sites in the Sacred Valley. Its huge stone terraces, temples, and original Inca streets reveal the extraordinary engineering skill of the Inca civilization. Afterwards, transfer to the station to board the train to Aguas Calientes.
At the end of the guided tour, you will head to the Ollantaytambo train station to board the train to Aguas Calientes. Once at the hotel, after check-in, you will have a brief informational meeting with the guide to coordinate the details for the next day.
After breakfast at your hotel, you will walk to the bus station to take the bus that will take you in approximately 30 minutes to the entrance of Machu Picchu.
At the scheduled entry time, the professional guide will accompany you to the archaeological site. During the visit, you will learn about the history, engineering, architecture, and cultural importance of the Inca citadel.
Bus trip back to Aguas Calientes, where you will have time to eat or explore the town depending on your train schedule.
You will board the train back to Ollantaytambo, where transportation will be waiting to take you back to your hotel in Cusco.
