The day begins with pick up from hotels in Esquel starting at 9:00 AM to begin the excursion towards the northwest of Chubut.

Transfer through the Patagonian steppe with observation stops

The route proceeds from Esquel towards a Patagonian steppe region, with stops to observe birdlife, flora adapted to the environment, and views of the mountain range hills.

Entry to the Chubut River valley and arrival at Piedra Parada

After leaving the paved road behind, the journey continues on a gravel road until reaching the Chubut River valley. There, you enter the Piedra Parada area, a natural space recognized for its geology and landscapes.

Hike in Piedra Parada and exploration of the Buitrera Canyon

In this section, a walk is made through the Piedra Parada area to appreciate the large rock formation by the river. Later, the excursion ventures into the Buitrera Canyon, covering approximately 8 kilometers between rock walls and rugged landscapes characteristic of the area.

Pause and stop in Gualjaina

After the exploration, the day includes a break for refreshments and a stop in Gualjaina. There, a visit to a semi-precious stone craft workshop can be made, subject to the availability of the lapidary.

Drop off at hotels in Esquel

The excursion ends with the return to the hotels in Esquel at 7:00 PM, after a full day through steppe, valley, and geological formations of the interior of Chubut.
