What to expect
The adventure begins with a boat trip across the crystal-clear waters of Lake Menéndez. During the navigation, you will be amazed by the Patagonian landscapes, surrounded by native forests and the imposing peaks of the mountain range. This stage will take you to the starting point of the hike, preparing you for the exploration on foot of this pristine corner of the park.
Once on solid ground, you will start a trekking hike through trails that go deep into the Andean-Patagonian forest. The effort will be rewarded upon reaching the spectacular Laguna del Antiguo, a glacial origin water mirror. From its shores, you will get a privileged and breathtaking view of the majestic Torrecillas Glacier, a moment of pure connection with nature that will be etched in your memory.
What you should know
- It is a semi-covered boat so we suggest bringing a warm jacket, hat, gloves, and waterproof jacket.
- In summer, comfortable clothing suitable for the day's weather. It is advisable to bring a swimsuit.
- Wear trekking shoes (mandatory in winter) with good grip soles.
- A backpack, light fleece, and waterproof jacket are always useful in case of wind or rain.
- The excursion is not canceled due to rain.
