What to expect
Day 1 – Start of Carretera Austral
Pickup from your accommodation in Puerto Montt. Start of the journey with visits to Alerce Andino National Park and the town of Hornopirén.
Day 2 – Fjords and Pumalín
Ferry crossing from Hornopirén to Caleta Gonzalo, trail exploration in Pumalín National Park, and arrival in Chaitén.
Day 3 – Chaitén Volcano and Puyuhuapi
Ascent of Chaitén Volcano, visit to Lago Yelcho Viewpoint, and a stop at the La Bandera Museum before arriving in Puyuhuapi.
Day 4 – Queulat National Park
Trekking and boat excursion in Queulat National Park, visit to Padre García Waterfall, and tour through Puerto Cisnes.
Day 5 – Coyhaique and End of the Journey
Visit to Río Cisnes Viewpoint, Puerto Aysén, and Río Simpson National Reserve before arriving in Coyhaique.
