What to expect
Pick up at the accommodation between 5:45 and 6:30 a.m. and transfer to the border between Chile and Bolivia.
Cross into Bolivia and complete border formalities to continue the journey through the Altiplano.
4x4 tour through the Eduardo Avaroa Reserve with visits to Laguna Blanca and Laguna Verde.
Continue through the Dalí Desert and visit the Polques hot springs.
Visit the Sol de Mañana geothermal field, located at nearly 5,000 meters altitude.
Visit Laguna Colorada to observe its landscapes and pink flamingos, followed by a stop at Laguna Capina.
Arrival at Villamar to end the first day and spend the night.
Departure from Villamar and visit to the World Cup Formation, the Petrified Camel Rock, and the Stone City.
Visit Laguna Vinto, where it is possible to observe flamingos and other Andean birds.
Tour to the Anaconda Canyon, one of the natural formations included in the route.
Visit the Sora wetlands, habitat of llamas and other local wildlife species.
Pass through the abandoned village of Julaca and continue to Puerto Chuvica.
Early departure to watch the sunrise and begin the tour across the surface of the Salar de Uyuni.
Visit Incahuasi Island, known for its giant cacti and petrified coral. Access is subject to salar conditions.
Stop at the so-called Eyes of the Salar during the Uyuni tour.
Visit the Salt Museum and the Forest of Flags.
Stop in Colchani, a town known for its crafts.
Visit the historic Train Cemetery before continuing to Uyuni.
Stop in Uyuni and begin the return journey to Villamar.
Early departure from Villamar and transfer to Hito Cajón to complete border procedures.
Transfer from the border to downtown San Pedro de Atacama, with expected arrival around 12:00 p.m.
