Volcán Saciel: Trekking at Altitude in San Pedro de Atacama

We begin the day by picking up participants directly from their accommodations in San Pedro de Atacama. We depart early to take advantage of the cooler hours during the ascent. The journey to the volcano offers impressive desert views as we head towards the base.

Upon reaching a nearby rest point, we enjoy a mountain breakfast to provide the necessary energy for the ascent. This is a moment to hydrate and mentally prepare for the hike.

Upon arriving at the base of Sairecabur Volcano, we take a short break and make final preparations. Here, participants can adjust their equipment, hydrate again, and receive final instructions from the guide on what to expect during the hike.

We begin the ascent. Although the path is not technical, it requires physical effort and proper acclimatization to the altitude. The guide will set a manageable pace to help everyone acclimate and enjoy the climb.

We reach the summit of Sairecabur Volcano, where we enjoy impressive panoramic views of the Andes mountain range. This is the perfect moment to take photographs, rest, and enjoy a well-deserved snack.

We begin the descent, maintaining a steady and careful pace, allowing time to enjoy the views and manage any effects of the altitude.

The vehicle will be ready to transport us back to San Pedro de Atacama.
