What to expect
The tour begins with a transfer from your accommodation in San Pedro de Atacama. This service is included as long as your accommodation is within the San Pedro area. If you are outside this zone, a nearby meeting point will be provided.
2 HoursDuring the journey to the volcano's base, we will stop for an energizing breakfast, perfect to prepare for the ascent.
15 MinutesUpon arrival at the volcano's base, we will take some time to prepare, adjust equipment, and receive final instructions before starting the climb.
30 MinutesThe climb begins at 5,600 meters above sea level along the south face of the volcano. The trek takes us to the shoulder of Sairecabur, where the final stretch consists of a 250-meter scree without a marked path, using large rocks for support. This challenging ascent offers breathtaking views along the way.
5 HoursOnce at the summit, we will take a brief break to rest, enjoy the surroundings, and capture photographs of the stunning landscape.
15 MinutesWe will begin the descent from the summit to the base, following a safe and carefully marked path to return to the vehicle.
3 HoursThe tour concludes with a transfer back to San Pedro de Atacama. You will be dropped off at your accommodation, ensuring a comfortable and safe end to this unforgettable experience.
