What to expect
We meet at the entrance of the San Felipe de Barajas Castle to start the tour of the fortress, with an explanation of its defensive design, tunnels, ramps, and strategic points.
We walk through the different levels of the castle while the guide narrates attacks, military strategies, and the importance of the place in the defense of Cartagena and Caribbean trade.
We take the included transportation from San Felipe Castle to the Walled City to continue the walking tour through the historic center.
We walk through the streets and squares of the Walled City, visiting places like the Cathedral, the Palace of the Inquisition, and the Plaza de los Coches, learning about trade, culture, and local life stories.
We finish the tour at the Santo Domingo bastion, with views of the walls and the sea, ideal for photos and to close the historical context of Cartagena.
