What to expect
Early departure from Cusco to Km 82, the starting point of the Inca Trail, to begin the trek along one of the region's most iconic trekking routes.
Start of the hike through the Sacred Valley with a visit to Patallaqta, an Inca archaeological site located in a mountainous setting with views of Mount Veronica.
The day ends with the hike to Wayllabamba, where the first camp is set up to rest and prepare for the next day's ascent.
The second day involves a gradual ascent along ancient Andean trails to reach Warmiwañuska, the highest point of the route.
From this area, high mountain landscapes and the magnitude of the Inca trail can be appreciated, in one of the most demanding and representative stages of the route.
After crossing the pass, the descent begins towards Pacaymayo, where the camp and rest for the second night take place.
The hike continues from Pacaymayo in a day of ascents and descents through different sections of the Inca Trail.
During the route, important Inca archaeological centers are visited, including Runkurakay and Sayacmarca, integrated into the trail and surrounded by a landscape of great natural value.
The route advances towards the cloud forest until reaching Wiñaywayna, where the last camp is set up before the final entry to Machu Picchu.
Start of the last day with the final stretch of the route towards Machu Picchu, progressing through one of the most anticipated sections of the trek.
Arrival at the final access point of the route to contemplate the surroundings of Machu Picchu and experience the conclusion of the trekking experience on the Inca Trail.
