What to expect
Presentation at the port 30 minutes before the agreed time to board.
Navigation through the Brazo Rico of Lake Argentino from the port to the refuge.
Arrival at the refuge and formation of small groups coordinated by the guides.
Walking along the lake shore and forest until reaching the glacier access area.
Delivery and fitting of the crampons needed to walk on the ice surface.
Instructive explanation by the guides before starting the glacier walk.
Moderate difficulty walk on an uneven but firm surface, observing crevasses, seracs, sinkholes, and small blue lagoons.
Return walk to the refuge through the forest.
According to the operator's description, at the end of the tour there is a toast with whisky and ice extracted from the glacier.
Navigation in front of the south wall of the glacier to observe it from the water.
Return navigation and arrival at Puerto Bajo de las Sombras around 16:00.
