What to expect
Departure from Manaus at 9:00 to start the journey towards Paraná de Ariau.
Arrival at the connection point to continue the trip by speedboat to the Sateré-Mawé community.
Speedboat trip to the Sateré-Mawé community, with an approximate arrival at 11:00.
Simple lunch with rice, flour, ants, and salad, as informed by the operator.
Explanation about natural preparations made with leaves and tree barks.
Activity with community members to learn about the search for tucandeira ants.
Cultural presentation of the ritual, with the possibility to film, take photographs, and participate in a traditional dance.
Return to Manaus at 16:00, with an approximate arrival at 18:00.
