What to expect
The day begins with departure from the accommodation in Puerto Pirámides. The visit takes place in the Punta Tombo Protected Natural Area, home to one of the largest continental colonies of Magellanic penguins in the world. There we take a walk along easy trails that allow walking among the penguins in their natural habitat, closely observing their behavior, nests, and different stages of their life cycle, depending on the time of year. During the walk, it is also possible to spot typical steppe wildlife such as guanacos, rheas, and various native birds, which further enriches the experience.
The excursion continues to Isla Escondida, a pristine beach of great natural value, recognized as a resting point for sea elephants in their wild environment. At this site, we observe from the coast, always respecting the distance from the animals, where it is possible to see sea elephants resting, moving on the beach, or interacting with each other in a completely natural environment without human intervention.
