What to expect
Arica - Putre (Day 0)
Arrival in Putre for an optional extra night at 3,500 meters above sea level, ideal for better acclimatization. Transportation is on your own, either by public or private transport.
Putre - Acclimatization Trekking
Optional acclimatization hike in mid or high mountain, to help adapt to the altitude before the expedition.
Base Camp at Guallatire Volcano
Transfer from Putre to Lake Chungará and then to the slopes of Guallatire Volcano. Acclimatization hike to the base camp at 4,700 meters above sea level, a key logistics and support point.
Ascent to Guallatire Volcano and return to Putre
Early morning ascent of the volcano, reaching 6,063 meters. After reaching the summit, descent to base camp for dismantling and cleanup before returning to Putre.

Important information
- Before the tour, we recommend spending at least one night in Putre to acclimatize properly and fully enjoy the adventure.
- The southern route is accessible most of the year, with a steep path and fewer penitentes than other routes. Temperatures at this altitude range from -15 to 22 °C, and the weather can be challenging due to exposure to wind and heat.
