What to expect
The excursion begins with departure from the city of Salta, heading south through the fertile Lerma Valley. Along the way, we will pass charming towns with great tradition such as El Carril and Coronel Moldes, where we can appreciate the colonial architecture and the peaceful pace of life in the region, while the landscapes gradually change, anticipating the historical richness that awaits us.
Upon arriving at Guachipas, we will enter the archaeological site of the Painted Caves. Accompanied by a local guide, we will take a walk to discover the rock shelters and cliffs that house an impressive legacy of more than 30 panels with rock art. We will observe figures of llamas, humans, and abstract symbols dating back more than a thousand years, immersing ourselves in the worldview and history of the pre-Inca cultures that inhabited these valleys.
