What to expect
The route begins at km 15 of the road from Puerto Moreno to Bahía López, where the hike starts near a stream before beginning the main ascent.
The first part of the trail progresses under a cypress forest, steadily gaining altitude as it enters the mountain environment.
As the hike continues, the trail crosses a lenga forest and areas of amancay, showing the transition of Andean Patagonian flora.
From the high vegetation zone, the route continues through stunted lengas and a scree slope until reaching the ridge that leads to the summit of Cerro Bella Vista.
At the summit, there is a pause to rest and enjoy a 360° view of Lake Nahuel Huapi and iconic mountains of the region, such as Tronador, López, Navidad, Catedral, Otto, and Negro.
The return is made by descending the same route used during the ascent, crossing again the different environments of the route.
