What to expect
The day begins with the ascent trek to Cerro Mallo, entering the heart of the Andean-Patagonian forest. The trail will guide us through dense forests of coihues and centuries-old oaks, where the vegetation surrounds us. As we gain height, we will cross characteristic reed beds, overcoming the first stage of this medium difficulty challenge.
After passing the forested area, the terrain changes and we face the final stretch of the ascent through high-altitude scree fields. The effort is rewarded upon reaching the summit of Cerro Mallo. From the top, you will enjoy unparalleled panoramic views of Lake Lácar and the majestic mountain range, then begin the descent along the same path.
