Trekking and canoeing in Tierra del Fuego National Park is a proposal designed for those seeking to explore the deepest and least traveled corners of the Argentine far south.
What to expect
Departure from Ushuaia towards the National Park. From your accommodation, about 10 km from the city of Ushuaia, on the shore of the Beagle Channel, the forest and mountains of Tierra del Fuego National Park await us.
After paying the park entrance fee (not included) and arriving at Ensenada Bay opposite Redonda Island, where the post office of the end of the world is located. The 8 km of undulating terrain, of medium difficulty, of the Coastal Trail, do not represent a challenge for exercise enthusiasts with appropriate clothing. Marine coast and forest: for a little over 3 hours, the guide shines with a lot of information that enriches and greatly expands the experience.
In a panoramic place away from the conventional tourist crowd, in a warm, comfortable and very spacious shelter, lunch arrives. The main dish is chicken breast stuffed with bacon and leek accompanied by roasted vegetables. Dessert. Wine, soft drinks, water. Coffee, tea. We offer menus for vegetarians and celiacs with prior reservation.
Technical talk and preparation to get on the canoes. Technical talk and preparation to get on the canoes. With the delivery of rubber boots, waterproof pants and life jackets, an informative talk is given, necessary to safely enjoy a very relaxing activity. From Acigami Lake (known as Roca Lake for a short period), we will have a unique and very fun experience along the Lapataia River, the Cormoranes Archipelago and the Green Lagoon. Within the landscape, our route considerably expands the map of Tierra del Fuego National Park to otherwise inaccessible areas and offers a unique point of view of life at these latitudes. The guides will tell us stories that, at this moment of the activity, can be experienced firsthand, in the place where they still resonate.
Those who do not wish to reach Lapataia Bay like the Yámana (by sea as they used to do, but in our case, dressed) will arrive at the end of the Pan-American route in our vehicle.
This natural adventure leaves us back at the hotel or any other central place, with an unforgettable perspective of Tierra del Fuego National Park: Acigami Lake (ex-Roca), the Cormoranes Archipelago, the Lapataia and Ovando rivers, the Green Lagoon and the sea, in Lapataia Bay, through places that very few get to know.
