The expedition to Vinciguerra Glacier is an immersive adventure in the heart of the Fuegian Andes, where ancient geology meets the fragility of the ecosystems at the End of the World.
What to expect
The day begins with a full immersion hike in the Fuegian nature. Starting from the Andorra Valley, we will enter a trail that crosses forests and peatlands, gradually ascending the mountain. During this stretch, we will witness how the landscape transforms, leaving behind the vegetation to give way to the high mountain environment, until reaching the base of the glacier, where the imposing Lagoon of Icebergs awaits us.
Once equipped with crampons, we will begin exploring the surface of the Vinciguerra Glacier. Each step will allow us to discover a world of unique ice formations, closely observing its deep blue-toned crevices and fascinating sinkholes. This unique sensory experience will connect us with the majesty of a natural monument in constant change, reflecting on its beauty and the importance of its preservation.
What you should know
- Backpack per person of 25/30L.
- 1 water bottle per person (500cm2)
- Mandatory clothing for the activity: waterproof mid or high shaft hiking boots, gaiters, waterproof pants, waterproof jacket.
- Clothing suitable for the type of activity and weather at the time of the activity.
- It is possible to rent the required clothing for an additional cost.
- One day before the activity, around 8 PM, Taun will inform you about the exact pick-up time.
