What to expect
Transfer towards the southwest along National Route No. 7, enjoying mountain landscapes, tunnels, and bridges of the old trans-Andean railway. Arrival at the Park Rangers office to process trekking permits.
2 HoursInitial hike crossing the Horcones Lagoon circuit, with views of Aconcagua. Crossing the Hanging Bridge over the Horcones River, an iconic point of the route.
1 HourAbout 4 hours trekking through the Durazno Gorge, with stops for rest and box lunch. Arrival at the Confluencia Camp (3,400 meters above sea level), where you can explore the area and observe expeditions heading to Plaza de Mulas.
4 HoursDescent of approximately 3 hours to Horcones. Return trip to Mendoza, with estimated arrival at 8:30 PM.
