Expedition to the Quebrada de Humahuaca: Andean Heritage and Tradition is an unmissable journey that connects the city of Salta with the most emblematic and historically rich landscapes of northern Argentina.
What to expect
The adventure begins departing from Salta early in the morning. We will take the iconic National Route 9, a road that unfolds like a ribbon through breathtaking landscapes. As we enter the province of Jujuy, we will witness the transition from valleys to the first colorful formations of the Quebrada. Our first main stop will be in Purmamarca, a town frozen in time, where you will have the opportunity to marvel at the world-famous Hill of Seven Colors and explore its craft market, a living reflection of Andean culture.
Continuing our journey north, we will visit Tilcara to explore its Pucará, a pre-Inca fortress that tells us the story of the ancient inhabitants of the region. The trip continues through spectacular landscapes, crossing the Tropic of Capricorn, until reaching the town of Humahuaca, the heart of the quebrada. Here, you will feel the authenticity of its cobblestone streets, its imposing Monument to the Heroes of Independence, and the vibrant local culture. After soaking up its history and traditions, we will begin the return to Salta, cherishing the images and experiences of an unforgettable day.
