What to Do in Bogotá

The best time to experience the Andean capital is during the dry seasons, which span from December to March and, to a lesser extent, July and August. These months offer clearer skies and less rain, perfect conditions for walking through the historic center of La Candelaria, ascending Monserrate to enjoy panoramic views, or exploring parks and museums without weather interruptions. Note that the high tourist season is especially concentrated in December, driven by Christmas festivities and an intense cultural agenda, so if you travel in this month, be prepared for a higher influx of visitors and possibly higher prices for accommodations and activities.

Bogotá enjoys an equatorial high mountain climate (Cold Land), characterized by cool temperatures year-round, with an annual average ranging between 10°C and 19°C. Average maximum temperatures, around 19°C to 20°C, are generally reached between January and March, while the coolest minimum temperatures, usually dropping to 5°C or 6°C (and possibly reaching 0°C on the coldest early mornings), occur mainly between December and February, and from June to August.
