5-day visit to the páramos and forests of the Andes

You travel on a morning flight to Ibagué, taste the Tolimense lechona, transfer to Cajamarca and ascend to the Anaime valley to visit El Retorno del Colibrí. In the afternoon you continue to the Semillas de Agua Reserve where you have dinner and rest.

You get up early for a demanding hike to Laguna La Madrid at 3,600 meters above sea level, which allows you to see the transition from high Andean forest to páramo. You have lunch on the way and return to the reserve to rest. At night you stay at the Cantos del Río hotel.

You take a morning tour through ravines and forests around the hotel and then embark on a horseback ride of approximately four hours through the valley to learn about rural life and gardens. You return to the hotel and have the afternoon free to rest.

You leave early for Tapias to explore landscapes shaped by the Machín volcano, learn local stories and the communities' relationship with the mountain. At the end of the day you enjoy the hot springs and sleep in cabins surrounded by forest.
