Medellín: eternal flowers and paisa tradition
Medellín, the capital of the Antioquia department, is located in the center of the Aburrá Valley, surrounded by imposing mountains. Known as the "City of Eternal Spring," it stands out for its profound urban transformation, its modern transportation system including the Metro and Metrocable, and the welcoming character of its inhabitants, the "paisas." Among its main points of interest are Plaza Botero, which displays the monumental sculptures of Fernando Botero, the Botanical Garden with its Orquideorama, and Comuna 13, a sector that tells the recent history of the city through urban art and music. Additionally, every year the city dresses up for the famous Flower Festival, a celebration of the traditional arriera culture of the region.

Any time of the year is excellent to travel to Medellín thanks to its thermal stability. However, the months from December to February and July and August are ideal, as they are the periods with the least rainfall. Visiting the city in early August allows you to witness the spectacular Flower Festival, the most important cultural event in the region.
The climate is equatorial mountain, notably moderated by altitude (about 1,500 meters above sea level). Temperatures are pleasant throughout the year, with highs averaging 26 °C to 28 °C and nighttime lows cooling down to 17 °C. Although precipitation occurs regularly, it is concentrated in two rainy seasons: from April to May and from September to November.
