What to expect
Start of the hotel pickup in central hotels within a radius of 15 blocks from Plaza 9 de Julio.
We will leave the city of Salta, exiting through the central access of the city, taking RN 9 and then entering the municipality of General Güemes via RN 34. Later, we enter the province of Jujuy, where we will have the opportunity to see a part of the Quebrada de Humahuaca, passing through picturesque towns such as Yala, Volcán (technical stop) and Purmamarca, where we will find the majestic Hill of 7 Colors.
We will make a short technical stop so that passengers can use the bathroom or buy some kind of snack.
First stop in the town of Purmamarca to take a panoramic photo of the route, in front of the town, since the position of the sun in the morning radically changes its colors. At this first stop we will be approximately 20 minutes.
We enter the incredible Cuesta de Lipán, where we will reach 4,170 meters above sea level and can enjoy its spectacular flora and fauna. It is a winding high mountain road, majestic with its green and brown colors showing the beautiful landscapes of the puna.
We arrive at the third largest salt flat in Latin America, where we will have between 45 minutes to 1 hour free to explore the salt pools, sculptures, salt restaurant and take amazing photos in this huge salt flat of northern Argentina.
Descent through Cuesta de Lipán to Purmamarca.
We return to Purmamarca and you can enjoy 2 free hours to explore the beautiful town and have lunch. The imposing Hill of 7 Colors nestled in the heart of the town with its narrow cobblestone streets and adobe and mud houses.
We return to the city of Salta traveling the last part of the Quebrada de Humahuaca and its landscapes. We have technical stops on the way in case you want to use the bathroom, buy something to eat or drink.
What you should know
- It is recommended to wear clothing suitable for the type of activity and weather at the time of the activity.
- Bring water and snacks to regain energy.
- Bring a hat, sunglasses, and sunscreen.
- To avoid altitude sickness, we recommend staying hydrated, not drinking alcohol, and eating light meals.
- Drinking alcohol or eating inside the bus.
- A minimum number of participants is required for the activity to take place. If this number is not reached, the activity will be rescheduled for another date or a refund will be issued.
- The excursion is not canceled due to rain or bad weather.
