What to expect
Pick up at your accommodation within the urban area of Bogotá.
1 HourScenic journey and arrival at Guatavita. Enjoy the scenic journey to Laguna Guatavita, located at 3100 meters above sea level.
1 Hour 30 MinutesGuided tour at Guatavita Lagoon. Hike to the top of the lagoon. The local guide explains the history of the Muisca culture, the legend of El Dorado, and the spiritual significance of gold.
2 Hours 30 MinutesTransfer to La Casa Loca and visit. Transfer to the site of optical illusions, where the tilted design allows for fun photography.
1 HourReturn to Bogotá. Transfer back to the city, enjoying the scenery.
2 HoursDrop off at your accommodation within the urban area of Bogotá. Return to your hotel or hostel.
1 MinuteWhat you should know
- Comfortable shoes for walking (approximately 1.5 km)
- Comfortable clothing (for páramo weather: cold and windy)
- Water or hydration in reusable or glass bottles (single-use plastic is not allowed in the Lagoon)
- Sunscreen
- Enter the Guatavita Lagoon with single-use plastic bottles
- Throw objects or garbage into the lagoon
- Leave the marked trails during the hike
- Minimum age: All ages
