What to expect
You fly from Bogotá to Ibagué in the afternoon according to the itinerary and descend from the Eastern Andes to the foothills of the Central mountain range.
Upon arrival in Ibagué you settle into the Hotel Estelar Altamira and have free time to rest or take a brief walk around the surroundings.
You leave Ibagué heading east towards Tolima to observe the transition between the mountains and the warm valleys.
You visit artisan centers where traditional techniques and cultural expressions of the territory are preserved.
In the afternoon you transfer to Honda, an old port on the Magdalena River, and stay at La Posada de las Trampas.
You spend the morning exploring the bridges, alleys, and colonial architecture of Honda and have lunch at a local gastronomic reference.
In the afternoon you visit the Magdalena River Museum to understand the environmental, social, and cultural history of Colombia's great river.
You travel to Mariquita to learn about its connection with the Royal Botanical Expedition and its 18th-century scientific legacy.
You continue to Falan to explore the Lost City of Falan, its architecture linked to mining, and the biodiversity of the surroundings.
You return to Ibagué and make a stop at Risonella for a themed coffee break and an introduction to the rice culture of the plateau.
You enjoy Tolima-style lechona, visit the Mundo Sonoro Museum and the Panoptic Museum, and have time for cultural activities in the city.
After breakfast you are transferred to Ibagué airport to take the return flight to Bogotá and conclude the route.
